04/27/08: Psalm 69
Messianic Prophecy: "They put gall in my food and gave me vinegar for my thirst" (Psalm 69:21).
Fulfillment: "There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after tasting it, he refused to drink it" (Matthew 24:34).
Messianic Prophecy: "God will save Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah. Then people will settle there and possess it; the children of his servants will inherit it, and those who love his name will dwell there" (Psalm 69:35,36).
Verification: "Therefore, this is what the LORD says: 'I will return to Jerusalem with mercy, and there my house will be rebuilt. And the measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem,' declares the LORD Almighty. Proclaim further: This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'My towns will again overflow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort Zion and choose Jerusalem'" (Zechariah 1:16,17).
