Ted:

Messianic Prophecy: "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times" (Micah 5:2). This is a prophecy that the Messiah (Jesus) would be born in Bethlehem. He will rule over Israel (in the future), and his origins were from ancient times (literally, from the beginning of time).

Micah 7:8-20 indicates that, once again, Israel will rise and be blessed, but not until the very end of the age, when the Messiah returns. But not all of Israel will be blessed, only a remnant: "Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy" (7:18). At that time, God again will have compassion on (a remnant of) Israel, forgetting their sins and iniquities, and keeping the covenant with them that He promised to Abraham long ago (7:19).
